Dues are $15 and can be paid by snail mail or via PayPal, either way you pay please remember to send your membership application so we can make sure we have your current contact information. 

If you have already paid your member dues for 2012, you are already entered!

Membership into CTATS cost $15.00.

This cost covers you for one school year as well as your students enrolled at your school.

Membership fees can be payed online via paypal or by check and mailed along with your application to Alicia Simmons.  If paying via paypal, please download the membership form, fill in the information and email it to Alicia Simmons.

Message from CTATS President, Joe Gonzalez

Colleagues,

Welcome back to another year of wrapping, taping, and ice!  For many of you in the secondary and collegiate levels, summer has ended and it’s back to the athletic training room for hot days and long Friday nights.  I hope all of you have enjoyed your summer, even though the heat has kept us indoors most of it! I just wanted to update you on our progress with CTATS.

Our annual workshop was held at C.E. Ellison High School this year, and the turnout was great!  I would like to thank Melissa Harrington and her crew for putting together  yet another great workshop for the students.  They really seemed to enjoy it and I would say they learned a lot!  The professional workshop was top notch as well as our Workshop Committee did an outstanding job getting great speakers and the professionals were also able to see more of the student sections as well. 

We also had elections for Vice-President, Secretary, Austin Area Representative, Killeen Area Representative and Waco Area Representative.  Congratulations to the following individuals:

In January, we will start taking nominations for President, Treasurer, Stephenville Area Rep and Bryan/College Station Rep and I hope we have many people nominated for those positions as well as a great voting turnout.

We are planning on hosting a social very time soon.  We have tried looking into many things in the past, but the timing has always been off.  However, we hope to correct that and host several  socials in various areas so that we can reach the membership.  If you have some ideas on where we can host a social in your area, please contact Nikki Vincent (nikki_vincent@roundrocksid.org), our social chair.

As many of you know, Jeff Mann has accepted a position as Assistant Principal and we are now in need of a Web Master!  If you have some experience in that area, please contact me and we can discuss all the details.

I have also accepted a position as an Assistant Principal at the school where I was working as an athletic trainer.  While it was a huge and emotional change for me, I decided that this is the direction I needed to take.  However, I will continue to serve out the rest of my term as President of this great organization.  While I have moved to another role, I will still continue to be a part of the athletic training community.  I hope to keep in contact with each of you, even if I don’t get to see you on the sidelines. 

Last, we will begin our membership drive in November.  As you remember, we have adjusted when member dues were to be paid to remain an active member of CTATS, which is now January.  Our membership has stayed steady the past couple of years, and we would like for those of you that have not joined or renewed your membership to see what CTATS has to offer.  While we got off to a rocky start, we have made much progress over the past 3 years.  Our executive board will meet soon to discuss ways to increase membership, but we also need your input.  What do you hope to see our of CTATS and how can we help you and your students?  Send us your thoughts – you can visit our web page at www.ctats.org and click on administration.  There you will find our committee chairs and executive board names and email information.  Let us know what your opinion is!
